Ready to Get My SHINE ON!

It is HERE. . .it is finally time to SHINE. I have only been talking about this year's Shine Woman's Conference at Celebration Church since last year's SHINE. . .Oh it is going to be GREAT, GREAT, GREAT. My sister in law, Christa, will be flying in with her prego belly tomorrow right before the first event. God is going to move in mighty ways, for that I am positive. The theme this year is LOVE REVOLUTION. . . I CANNOT WAIT!!!

I'm LOSING IT!

I lose it, I find it, I lose it, I find it. . .

IT=anything I might need at a moments notice. . .calendar, sunglasses, keys, shoes, my brain. . .whatever. . .God, help me!

Makes My Heart Happy

Last week, I decided to step up the discipline with Bryson. He had been doing SO well with gaining self-control and apologizing. Adam and I were ready for him to do some serious play time on his own. He had learned to do that for the most part in our apartment up in PA, but the place was so small, he could see us in just about every room from the living room. Now that we are home, that is no longer the case. If I am in the kitchen cooking or in the bathroom getting dressed he feels all alone and the scream-fest would be ON. He was able to gain self control, but as soon as I told him to go play again, he would get upset again.

Gates went up and doors got locked so Bryson would stay in the Living Room with all the toys. We spent 5 days Monday-Friday gaining more and more success as the days went on. The first day, he screamed for upwards of 3 hours I think. I gave him the option to play or scream in the pac-n-play. When he chose scream, off to the pac-n-play he went. We did that over and over until he finally played alone for 5 minutes. WHEW! That was a day. The days continued like that, but I saw improvement each day, where he was playing with me out of sight for longer and longer periods of time.
Saturday was rough, because Adam was home. A new dynamic during the day, but we stayed with the same plan.
And, Monday. . .it happened!!! We had the ultimate test. I had a drs. apt scheduled for the afternoon, but the office called and changed the apt on me. I had to be on the phone changing all my plans for the day and get dressed in a hurry, because we had to be out of the house in 45 minutes. Bryson didn't even flinch. He let me run around the house like a crazy mommy while he played perfectly contently on the floor for the entire morning. What a BLESSING. I was praising God all morning, giving GOD all the glory. He is so good and faithful.
Here are some pics I was able to capture of my almost 2 year old playing all alone. It makes my heart happy!

Long Time. No Blog

Where does the time go? I have lots of updating to do. Prepare yourself, I will be all over the board with this catch up post.

Since I last blogged, Adam's mom was able to come stay a quick weekend with us. We had a great time. Bryson even started calling her Memere. Saturday was spent at Hanna Park where we played in the sand and surf, picniced by a quaint lake and climbed on the park equipment. Fun was had by all. The weather couldn't have been any better. Bryson took to his Memere quite quickly wanting her to be involved in all his activity.

The three of us also drove down to Ft. Myers for a weekend to celebrate my little brother's 26th birthday. I have to admit, I still think of him as only 7 years old or so. . .crazy. He and Holly, my lovely sister in law, have been married just over a year. They are great together. I don't have any pics of the birthday boy, (sad) but here is one of his lovely wife, Holly with none other than BRYSON!

Adam left on that Sunday, leaving Bryson and me at my parents house to spend a relaxing week. The highlight for Bryson was most certainly throwing rocks in the water. My parents live on a river so that was some BIG excitement there. He learned to say "Jet Ski" and even took a ride on his Grandaddy's sailboat. Grandmommy proved to be just so much fun. They read lots of books and spent a lot of time playing together. Good times, good times.

Bryson is chattering more and more these days. You just never know what will come out of his mouth next. He LOVES ice, I mean he thinks that is a treat. I love how he asks for it "ice, ice baby." you know it, he is the next Vanilla Ice!

One of my favorite moments in the last few days has to have been getting out of the car Wednesday night after church. He looked up and in his little almost 2 year old voice said, "Moonah! Stars. . .onah. . . . tooo. . . . tree. . . porh. six. nine. TEN stars!" My little star gazer. So Innocent. . .thinking he can count all the stars in the sky. What a sweet boy!

We are planning his SECOND birthday. . .it seems like yesterday we were celebrating his birth.

I have lots of discipline notes to blog on . . .I will save that for another day.
